So you guys have been asking so many questions about the city of Austin which is why I decided to give you a little travel update about my trip. Spoiler: This place is absolutely amazing and I love it! Here’s what has been happening so far.
If you follow me on Instagram, you know by now that I’m staying at Native Hostel. Disclaimer: I’m not paid to mention them but I still have to label this with “Werbung” since I included the name of the place. So, here: Werbung. I know. Laws are weird. Anyway.
This is the most amazing hostel I’ve ever been to. It’s hip, the beds are comfortable and there are events almost every single night. But look for yourself…
As far as the Austria to Austin program, an initiative by the US Embassy, is concerned, I can say that I’ve already learned a lot. We’ve talked about mentor-mentee relationships, founding a startup and other neat stuff. In fact, I’m currently going through the “Three Day Startup” program, where I learn what it takes to found a startup within three days. Crazy, right?
And there are many more interesting projects to come. It’s going to be two exciting weeks!
The program has been pretty intense so far, but I still managed to go for a run along the river which, by locals, is often referred to as a lake. (It’s not a lake, really. It’s a river.) Regardless of what you may or may not call it, it’s beautiful.
Besides this, we also did a bunch of other fun stuff such as a scavenger hunt. And we explored the city a bit, took photos etc. It’s amazing and I don’t ever want to leave. I know. I always say that when traveling. But it’s true!
Of course, a travel update also needs to address food. You know that food is amazing when you forget to take photos of it. That’s what happened when I had a Texas BBQ. And tacos. And Quesadillas. And freshly baked cookies. And ice cream.
Sorry for that, guys. I guess you have to order those dishes for yourself to find out how amazing they tasted (and looked)!
